About the regatta
Racing in memory of Jim Cook
The annual Jim Cook One Design Regatta will be held at CYC on Oct 24-25, 2026. This annual event is named after CYC’s Jim Cook, an avid sailor and rower who was tragically killed in a boating accident in 2023.
The regatta features sailors from across the country who join our local fleets for a weekend of racing. Past regattas have featured sailors from as far away as Canada and Chicago. Three classes are planned for 2026: Wayfarer, MCScow, and Sunfish.
In addition to great racing, the event features a great Saturday evening party with live music.
